Personal injury protection insurance
Personal Injury Protection insurance refers to a kind of insurance that provides coverage to medical and other expenses caused by an automobile accident. It provides coverage to those people who have been specified in the policy regardless of who is at fault in an accident.
The most impressive feature of this policy is it covers the person named as insured and his residents those who are related to him by blood, marriage or adoption. It also covers other passengers and pedestrians. This policy will pay out to this people irrespective of who is at fault.
PIP covers the medical expenses caused by an automobile accident mostly for three years from the date of the accident. Payments are also made for the loss incurred by the insured person to others. However PIP will not cover intentional injuries or for indulging in a crime. PIP has become expensive with the increase in the medical costs nowadays.
